About Us
Willow Bridge Alpacas is our small, selective alpaca breeding farm in Mazomanie, WI. There is a small natural trout stream meandering through our bottom land with ancient willows, some of which have fallen over - making bridges across the stream - thus the name of our farm! We cherish and protect our animals and their home.
We researched alpaca ownership for over four years before we purchased our first alpacas. We attended conferences, clinics, shows, visited farms, read, read, joined AOBA. We knew just the animals we wanted when we made our purchases and were very lucky to find exactly those animals. We have received wonderful support from the alpaca community and offer the same to all.
Alpacas are delights of life - so enchanting and lovable. Sometimes just watching them gives an energy boost! And, the fabulous gift of fiber they give us!
We offer: stud service to our full Peruvian maroon International Award winner WWF Stetson; stud service to our new herdsire AFF Basil; sales of the highest quality award winning offspring; guarantees; financing; a minimum of $5000 discount on multiple alpaca animal purchases; packages of special animals (price not subject to discount). We strive to produce strong, healthy, finely fibered alpacas. We are available to all who want information about alpacas and are available to assist any alpaca owner in their alpaca venture. We offer on-going support, information and encourage farm visits.
Willow Bridge Fiber Mill is the name of our alpaca fiber processing mini mill. We started our mill the middle of May 2007. What Fun!
Roy and Jean each have over 20 years of varying experience in the fiber processing industry - ranging from designing and erecting and operating processing equipment; purchasing raw fiber; engineering/designing finished products; developing and overseeing programs of quality assurance of processes, raw and finished products; and other experience.
We offer processing of your alpaca fiber per your requests. We treat all alpaca fiber with gentle care, hand sorting, gentle machine processing.
We use only environmentally friendly - biodegradable - products in our processes. We use no petroleum products in our washing process and recycle our water. All microns of alpaca fiber can produce fine alpaca fiber products. We can process Huacaya and Suri alpaca fiber.
We can produce yarns, rovings, batts, felted alpaca fiber from your fiber (and we have our own WB fiber products). We process our customers' fleeces before we process our own fiber. We can produce 100% alpaca products or we can blend other fibers with your alpaca fiber - cotton, silk, meriono wool. Fiber blending, fleece blending and color blending at different places in processing creates different, unique products. We can blend at the picker, the fiber separator/dehairer, the carder, the draw frame and at the plying stages. We strive to produce quality, unique alpaca fiber products for our customers.
We have for sale 100% alpaca fiber ( Huacaya, Suri, and Huacaya/Suri blends) yarns, rovings, batts, felted alpaca fiber fabric. We have for sale products made from our alpaca yarns and felts - hand knitted/crocheted clothing, household items (baby blankets, blankets) - hand woven sofa throws (each unique)- dog beds and coats- cria coats- foal coats- saddle pads and saddle blankets.
We plan to keep exploring new ways to produce exquisite alpaca fiber products in our mill made from the fiber of our own growing herd and from the fiber of the North American alpaca industry.
